Kleanza Creek Provincial Park: Canyon Photography & Granite Rock Pools

Kleanza Creek, named from the Gitxsan word meaning ‘gold’, is located just 15 minutes east of Terrace along Highway 16. It is a stunning natural showcase of carved granite canyons, lush ferns, and rushing mountain water.

Exploring the Canyon Trail

A short, scenic trail leads upstream from the day-use parking area into a dramatic rock chasm where Kleanza Creek cascades over smooth granite boulders. In late summer when water levels subside, calm emerald pools form along the edges.

• Top Photography Angles: Shoot low to the water with a wide-angle lens (16-35mm) to capture the towering cedar trees framing the canyon walls.
• Water Safety: Granite rocks can be extremely slick, wear felt or rubber-soled water shoes.
